In the final of the Chance Czech Cup after 20 years, we did not follow up on the previous three triumphs and finally lost to Black Volley Beskydy 3:1 after a fight.
The start of the match was balanced on both sides, AERO took a three-point lead, but Beskydy then took the reins in their own hands halfway through the set and turned the situation around, leading Beskydy themselves by three points. AERO equalized before entering the end at 18:18, but the Beskyd’s next scoring streak meant the decisive difference and they won the set – 1:0.
Even in the second set, AERO had a better entry and led by four points. Both sides lost fairly regularly and AERO kept the Beskydy under them. AERO even went into the end with a six-point lead, and it was with this difference that the set ended. It was tied – 1:1.
The third set was the most even of all from start to finish. Neither team let the other bounce back and the difference was always only two points. And the difference of two points meant two chances to end the set for Beskydy. AERO deflected the first and then, thanks to great fighting spirit, was able to tie the game at 24:24. The Beskydy got to the second set ball, which Perry converted with a direct point from the serve – 2:1.
Beskydy entered the fourth set better, but AERO countered and was leveled again, and AERO even took the lead 8:7. But the middle part of the set once again belonged to the Beskydy, who took a three-point lead thanks to their service, which made it difficult for the AERA players to prepare an attack. In the end, AERO recorded several unforced errors, and Beskydy converted the first match ball – 3:1.
So we say goodbye to Chance Czech Men’s Cup for 2024 in second place. It is the club’s biggest success since 2004, when AERO won the title and the Czech Cup.
A big thank you to our fans for the great support both days. You guys were great!!!
