Kladno won even after the third game and that means end of the season for AERO Odolena Voda team A

The opening of the match was settled from both sides and virtually lost on both sides. The home side were two points ahead, but AERO’s point line in the middle of the set managed to take the lead. Even beyond that, the score was awfully even and it went to the end. They were the first to finish the set at home, but AERO took two break points and had the opportunity to close out the set as well. Unfortunately, Martin Chevalier’s spoiled service took the chance. Kladno then used another setball when Seppänen was successful – 1-0.

It entered the second set serenely and was played evenly on both sides. From the middle of the term, the home side had a two-point lead, which they maintained in front of the intruding AERA players. The entire set was decided by a series to serve home Platachs, who took a decisive lead – 2-0.

They had the home side better entering the third period, but AERO took incremental steps back into the game when they dropped. Unfortunately the set was like a swing and Kladno bounced back. The last burst brought the AERO to within three points of the end, but they expertly finished the home set and won the entire match – 3-0.

It was a crucial game for Kladno and it advances to the semi-finals of the CEZ Men’s Volleyball Extraliga. For AERA players, the 2023-24 season ends in seventh place.
